Character Information:
Name: Jack Frost
Canon: Rise of the Guardians movie
Canon point: End of the film
Age: possibly 318 not really confirmed at this point.
Appearance:
Jack Frost wears a blue pull over hoodie and brown pants. The hoodie has a snowflake frosted look to it around the neckline and the sleeves. He has short white hair and blue eyes with pale skin. He walks around in bare feet.
When he was alive he used to wear a brown cloak and brown vest over the hoodie and brown pants. When he was being initiated as a Guardian they gave him blue elf boots to wear that he refused. He carries with him a staff with a curve at the top resembling a Sheppard’s staff.
Background:
Jack Frost is a human reincarnated into an immortal being that has control over frost and cold weather. When he was alive he helped his mother take care of his younger sister, Pippa. They never mentioned if their father was around or had died, but it seemed to be that he was the main care taker for the family and was very protective of them. He was known to entertain Pippa and her friends on a daily bases. This was back in the colonial days.
Then one day he saved Pippa from drowning in a pond of icy water. The two had gone ice-skating and didn’t realize the ice was too thin. Using his sense humor and his staff he managed to relax his sister enough for him to retrieve her and bring her to a safer area in the lake. Only in return, the ice to collapse around him causes him to sink into the depths of the icy water.
After his death, Jack was brought back by the Man in the Moon as Jack Frost. However, Jack had no memories of his past or what his purpose was. He spent many years wandering the world confused and lost. Over the time, he began to understand the various powers he had gained and had fun with them.
Yet, it frustrated him that people couldn’t see him or felt that Jack Frost wasn’t real. People treated him more of a phrase and not something to worry about. It was also a big fear of him to go forever unnoticed. Even though the children enjoyed the snow days he gave them and the fun that snow brought with it.
It wasn’t until Pitch’s return to the world and his reign of Nightmares came into purpose…that Jack Frost’s destiny was finally revealed. (Pitch was known as the Boogeyman and had disappeared for a long time only to return once he had learned how to create Nightmares.) The Man in the Moon told the other Guardians (Santa, the Sandman, the Easter Bunny, and the Toothfairy) that Jack Frost was to become a Guardian.
They in turn kidnap Jack Frost and bring him to headquarters. Jack is in full denial of this task and is upset that the Man in the Moon never told him from the start. He also admits that he has no memory of who he was or what his true purpose was and unwilling to accept this new role because of this.
His curiosity and the bait to have his memories returned are the main reasons why he does agree to help them defeat Pitch. Pitch in return tries to lure Jack to his side claiming how he understood how Pitch felt and even gave him his memories back…although at a cost. In his attempts to get the memories from Pitch, he wasn’t at the Easter Bunny’s world to stop the Nightmares from attacking. Easter was then ruined and the kids stopped believing. The other Guardians saw this as an act of betrayal as he had failed them when they needed him the most.
Jack flees from them even more frustrated with him where Pitch again confronts him. This time he reminds him that he has Baby Tooth (one of the fairies who worked for the Tooth Fairy that Jack had saved) and Jack sacrifices his staff in return for her safety. Pitch then breaks the staff and tosses him aside telling him to be alone. It was through Baby Tooth that he was able to regain faith and find his memories.
Jack then learned about his love for his sister Pippa and how he had selflessly sacrificed himself for her safety. Even with this knowledge he wasn’t upset about the fact he had died, but was happier that she had lived. This was the reason why the Man in the Moon had wanted him and brought him back.
He then figured out how to mend his broken staff and realized as well that he could channel his powers without the staff. The staff was merely a guide to help him channel the powers. He wasn’t so easily defeated as Pitch led him to believe.
With his faith restored he goes to help the others once more and even gets the children to believe again. By creating frost on the windows and creating an ice version of a rabbit and sent it hopping around the room he got the last kid, Jamie to believe in Easter again. Jamie then also saw that it was snowing his room and then noticed Jack for the first time. Jack is overjoyed with this and brings Jamie to see the other Guardians explaining how they needed his help.
They gather all of Jamie’s friends and together try to stop the Nightmares, but with them getting overwhelming and Pitch confronts Jack once more the children become scared. Jack then decides it’s time to have some fun and uses snowballs to fight back encouraging the kids to the same.
He then realizes that this was the same way he had saved his sister Pippa…using fun. Jack then learns what his center is Fun. With this knowledge Jack and the group are able to defeat Pitch. With Pitch defeated Jack then agrees to become a Guardian. The other Guardians fully accept him onto the team knowing that he could be trusted to do the job.
Previous Game History: n/a
Personality:
Jack is known for his mischief making and sense of fun. There never seems to be a dull moment around him and if he saw people not having fun he would make sure they did. Often his mischief ends up getting him in trouble or his target into trouble despite the fact he doesn’t mean it. He's been known to freeze the water in the fountains to get children's tongues stuck or just start snow ball wars out of the blue. He would do these little pranks just for fun, never to really do major harm.
Even though he’s known for fun he tends to be a loner himself. The fact that people don’t notice him causes him to keep a distance from others. His jealously with the other Guardians causes him to make trouble with them throughout the years. Santa had him on the naughty list (Jack also had admitted to trying to break into Santa’s headquarters) and the Easter Bunny wasn’t too keen on him for creating a blizzard one year during his holiday. The Tooth Fairy seemed to admire him the most due to his perfect teeth and smile. The only one he seemed to really respect was the Sandman. They seemed to have worked together before. Yet, Santa was the one who seemed to believe that Jack could do this and continued to guide him through the story on what it means to be a Guardian and how important it was to find his center.
Even though the Guardians protected the children, Jack was the only one who understood them. He spent a lot of time playing with them and simply watching them. Even though they never saw him…they still enjoyed his interactions. He helped teach the Guardians how to have fun with them and showed that they still needed to interact with them to keep make their belief in them stronger.
Jack isn’t one to really get upset and when he does it’s very rare. The only few times this seems to happen is when the children are in danger and even though he was angry…he tended to rely on his humor and sense of fun to defeat the instigator. He didn’t want the children to fear him as well or the situation even more. To rely on anger and fear would only make the situation worse and leave the wrong impression.
Skills and Powers:
Jack Frost is a personification of cold weather. He carries with him a staff that is a part of him as well. (If the staff were to break it would hurt him too.) The staff is merely a guide to help him channel his powers. He discovered this later when Pitch broke his staff and he thought he was defeated…only to realize he could mend the staff with his hands.
Jack uses the staff to help him conjure up ice and snow and call up the winds. He uses the winds to help him fly. He can freeze objects or people with the wave of his staff. He can also make frosted images appear on windows…usually scrolling ferns. Or he could draw designs depending on his mood. He drew a bunny on the window and made it hop around a boy’s room and as a result had it snowing in his room.
Items: Jack would bring with him his staff. His lume is silver with frost scrolls all it.

Action:
[The lume turns on and it appears to be frosted over. Scrolling designs of fern like crystals decorate the edgings of the mirror. One can’t see the face at all, but at least they can hear a voice male voice speaking in a cheerful tone.]
I have to say you guys are really boring. Hardly any of you appreciated the snow I gave you. After all that effort I went through to decorate your world and you guys complained about the cold and having to travel in it!
Where’s your sense of fun and adventure?! Being an adult must be horrible if you can’t appreciate a little bit of snow. If you think this snow is going to go away any time soon…you got another thing coming. I’m not going to let all that work go to waste.
I think we’re in need of a little snow ball fight. The loosing team gets to shovel all the snow.
[He then chuckles and shuts the lume off.]
Third Person Prose:
L’arc en Reves--interesting place for the Man in the Moon to send him to. Jack wondered what his purpose would be here. Would it be the same as it was back home—protecting the children? So many Nightmares seemed to plague this strange world…it would make sense. Why weren’t the others around though? Why was he the only summoned to help? He hoped eventually things would be answered and he wouldn’t be left in the dark…again.
What surprised him the most was that people here seemed to notice him…not just children, but adults. He wasn’t quite sure how to handle this new twist in things. It more than likely meant more fun to be had. Adult, the non-believers were always so much fun to torment.
He was so used to going about unnoticed and taking care of his job and no one appreciating his work. Now, he had to be a little more careful about it. People actually marveled about his craftsmanship! He was tickled by their reactions and loved to show off his work when he could.
However, right now he couldn’t-- this was a surprise for the people of L’ Arc en Reves.
Let the people spread rumors of his presence. They were going to be in for a real treat once he was done and give himself a nice flashy entrance. Jack smiled as he proceeded to turn the various islands into winter wonder land. His main focus was on the mainland, but he made sure to touch the other islands too. Jack Frost was here and it was time to have some fun.
